Product Description
The lounge chair Blow refers to the classic bean bag chair in construction and appearance. Both of them are manufactured from stuffing and fabrics, but with its firm construction Blow does not have the obvious disadvantages of the bean bag such as lack of comfort.
The idea for the chair evolved from a wish to improve and industrialize the expensive upholstery process where much of the work is done by hand. Blow designers Foersom and Hiort-Lorenzen have taken on the challenge of reversing the upholstery process in order to facilitate mass production. Instead of sewing the fabric and stuffing it, the mould is covered with the sewn fabric and liquid foam is shot into the upholstery. This is a technology also used by the car industry to make seats firm but without losing the softness.
